I am an abstract artist specialising in the expression of vivid colours mixed especially for each painting I create, and complete freedom of form on the canvas. This ability is essentially what has drawn me into abstract art. Colour psychology is very important in my work and I love to experiment with how it affects the mood of the observer, often using large canvasses to maximise the experience. I find that abstract art is a very subjective and organic process with the colour and form developing gradually, resulting in a unique character in each painting.
Following success in the UK and Australia where I exhibited my work resulting in sales and commissions, I am now developing my art business following a move back to my native Scotland by studying art on a practical level at Leith School of Art and at Masters level at Edinburgh University. I am also developing into curatorship and criticism.
In 2009 and 2010 I exhibited my work in the UK with my Abstract Art Group in Devon and Knightsbridge, London. In 2011 I exhibited in Sydney, Australia as part of charitable events organised by the leading Australian financial group, AMP. I am currently exhibiting my work in Café Plum and La Mula Obstinada in Edinburgh, and Robbies Photographics in London.
I accept commissions as well as selling my one-off original works privately and as part of exhibitions.
